Don't mess with these guys, they're HEAVY, literally! With a combined grunt of 456kg they're the heaviest punk band in the business and they'll stamp their authority all over your sweet ass come JULY 13th at the Square!

 

A big band of mates that just love  doing what they do, they're not a bunch of trendites, these guys mix it up for themselves and the crowd.

 

 

 

The band says about themselves, '...our sound is a mix of everything that we all listen to, each one of us brings something different which like every band makes our sound come out the way it does'

Unrest

 

 

Unrest is a five piece Metal/Hardcore band formed by a bunch of mates that individually have been playing around for several years and that have now unified to create the driving force that is Unrest.

 

The real question regarding the origins of Unrest is this, where did the band actually come from? Good question my friend, glad you asked! Why don't you just keep reading and you'll probably find out!

 

Well two of the band members played in the metal band Khemist supporting the likes of Mortal Sin and winning along the way the music Oz metal award. Two other band members played in a band called Hatetrip in their youngers years, and there were also stints for one of those members in several punk bands including Spilt Milk, Unpaid debt and Toe to toe. Got it now? Frankly it doesn't matter if you don't, it just means that you're slow, so I'll type a little less quickly for you!

 

 

Second question is,what does that background say about the musical stylings of Unrest? Well what it says is that they  already have the talent and nause from their prior experiences to deliver a powerful and unique live performance at INSTITUTIONALZED FEST 2013 and that in itself says that YOU have to BE THERE!

 

If you want to get a handle on what the guys can offer think Slayer, Machine Head, Parkway Drive (maybe the band name would give that way) and Biohazard. And if you're liking that mix then you'll like them even more live at INSTITUTIONALIZED FEST 2013!

INSTITUTIONALIZED pass giveaways from PUNKROCK RADIO

So, are you looking to get to INSTITUTIONALIZED FEST but can’t because you’ve spent all your hard earned on alcohol? (Thumbs up if you have by the way)! Well then we might just have a plan for you, actually let me correct myself and say that the guys from PUNKROCK RADIO have ‘THE’ plan, so keep reading on.

Because we here at INSTITUTIONALIZED FEST  are a bunch of softies at heart we’ve given PUNKROCK RADIO two double passes to our festival on July 13^th @ the Square in Haymarket! And rather than keeping the passes for themselves the boys at PUNKROCK have decided to ‘give them away’…well kind of…you’ll be required to work for them just a little but the risk will be well worth the reward.

PUNKROCK will be running two competitions prior to the event, the details of which are outlined below! So keep reading! You know your Gran would be proud that you’re a ‘reader’ and you know that she wants to go with you too!

COMPETITION 1 – PUNKROCK RADIO BADGE DESIGN

ENTRIES OPEN: NOW – ENTRIES CLOSE: 30^th JUNE 2013

A while back the PUNKROCK boys decided that they wanted to make up a few badges for themselves but haven’t been able to come up with the right design, (insert drum roll), this is where YOU come in! PUNKROCK are wanting you to cut loose with your creativity and are in turn giving you the job of designing the badges for them!

The simple rules to the competition are as follows – the design can be as wild and as crazy as your minds will allow but remember to make it something to do with PUNKROCK RADIO…easy, right!?!

 

The boys will select the best and most appropriate design for them with the winner receiving a double pass to INSTITUTIONALIZED FEST 2013, PUNKROCK RADIO stickers, badges, a spot in the INSTITUTIONALIZED FEST fanzine that will be on-sale at the festival and whatever the hell else that the guys decide to bring with them on the day.

The PUNKROCK guys arrive in Sydney on the Friday night prior to festival kick-off. Like good self-respecting punk merchants they’re gonna be out getting their drink on and all YOU have to do is find them!

Alison's Disease

 

These guys will be your intro to

INSTITUTIONALIZED FEST 2013

 So listen the hell up now whilst I give you the low down...or, if you like, the up high, because you know, we don't discriminate when it comes to height here.

 

Alison's Disease carries with it stories of 'mentally challenged' ranga's, the desire to play the B-52's Rock Lobster on ukelele, druken drivel, friends letting other friends be fucktards, compassionate mates with distorted guitar riffs and equally distorted lyrics, random stranger drummers, geese masquerading as punk performers and the possibility of compulsory rehab sessions!

 

Did you get any of that? Hell, I don't even know how we got them on the bill, but this is what they have to say for themselves...
