Arteries

ARTERIES are a Sydney based metal band which started out in 2011 with three mates who shared the same passion for heavy music. Soon after that they found themselves a bass player and with the recent addition of a second guitarist its helped form what ARTERIES are today, that being a diverse mixture of erratic riffs, brutal grooves and technical time signatures.

Since their very first show at The Annandale Hotel they've been winning over fans with their impressive and energtic live assaults, I mean, we know the deal, that's why we've got them on the bill for INSTITUTIONALIZED FEST ...'ah, it's all making sense you say'

The boys have kicked-off 2013 with some solid shows supporting hardcore legends such as Earth Crisis (USA) and Vanna (USA) and their show in Sydney.

Influenced by the likes of Underoath,The Dilinger Escape Plan and Periphery, ARTERIES have just recently finished recording their debut EP at Electric Sun Studios with master engineer/producer Shane Edwards. It's set to be released a week after INSTITUTIONALIZED FEST on the 19th of JULY, but you can catch the real thing at the festival on the 13th at the Square in Haymarket....SO BE THERE!!!

INSTITUTIONALIZED FEST 2013

To those of you landing here for the first time

WELCOME!!!

Now this is what we're about

Slapdash Records & Guitar Factory Parramatta Present:

Institutionalized Fest 2013

A killer METAL v PUNK event that is going to be 13 shades of crazy!

After this event we’re all going to be institutionalized for years to come.

Metal and punk have always lived side-by-side one cautiously watching the other but always suspicious of the others motives. In the end it really is all about the music and how it unites us all. Punk, metal, hardcore, we are all the same! We share a love of riffs, pummeling volume and the knowledge that we are part of something outsiders can never understand. Institutionalized Fest brings together an awesome line up of local punk and metal bands for one purpose, to have the best day possible! From openers Alison’s Disease to headline monsters, Killrazer, the fest promises a full day of back to back metal and punk action that demands you leave all your energy in the pit and go home totally spent but completely satisfied.

Five minutes of PAIN!!!

Check it! Our fanzine is exactly like a steaming hot tomale!?!

How so you ask?

Good freakin' question, let me think about that!

Well, a hot tamale is a dish of seasoned meat wrapped in cornmeal dough, and steamed or baked in corn husks...

..and our fanzine, FIVE MINUTES OF PAIN, well, it's nothing like that at all actually - other than the fact that it has interviews with bands on the INSTITUTIONALIZED line up, festival news, reviews, ridiculous & frivilous information...and the best part, it's $5 cheap on the day

OR

Free when you buy a pre-event day ticket via MOSHTIX!!

FESKIT

FESKIT

...and the same to you MOFO!..don't tell me to FESKIT, well not unless you're hitting INSTITUTIONALIZED FEST with me!

Don't mess with these guys, they're HEAVY, literally! With a combined grunt of 456kg they're the heaviest punk band in the business and they'll stamp their authority all over your sweet ass come JULY 13th at the Square!

A big band of mates that just love  doing what they do, they're not a bunch of trendites, these guys mix it up for themselves and the crowd.

The band says about themselves, '...our sound is a mix of everything that we all listen to, each one of us brings something different which like every band makes our sound come out the way it does'

If that's your type of thing, and it should be because the everyman should like everything!?...then get to INSTITUTIONALIZED FEST and lend your weight and support to the boys from FESKIT!!

Unrest

Unrest is a five piece Metal/Hardcore band formed by a bunch of mates that individually have been playing around for several years and that have now unified to create the driving force that is Unrest.

The real question regarding the origins of Unrest is this, where did the band actually come from? Good question my friend, glad you asked! Why don't you just keep reading and you'll probably find out!

Well two of the band members played in the metal band Khemist supporting the likes of Mortal Sin and winning along the way the music Oz metal award. Two other band members played in a band called Hatetrip in their youngers years, and there were also stints for one of those members in several punk bands including Spilt Milk, Unpaid debt and Toe to toe. Got it now? Frankly it doesn't matter if you don't, it just means that you're slow, so I'll type a little less quickly for you!

Second question is,what does that background say about the musical stylings of Unrest? Well what it says is that they  already have the talent and nause from their prior experiences to deliver a powerful and unique live performance at INSTITUTIONALZED FEST 2013 and that in itself says that YOU have to BE THERE!

If you want to get a handle on what the guys can offer think Slayer, Machine Head, Parkway Drive (maybe the band name would give that way) and Biohazard. And if you're liking that mix then you'll like them even more live at INSTITUTIONALIZED FEST 2013!

And if you want a ticket get onto the MOSHTIX site...
